Responsibilities

About Commercial Loan Operations

Commercial Loan Operations (CLO) is responsible for servicing the bank's multibillion-dollar commercial loan and lease portfolios. Specifically, CLO services multiple business lines, including Commercial Markets, Commercial Real Estate, Mid-Corporate, Business Banking, Government Banking, Commercial Enterprise Banking, RBS Asset Finance, RBS Business Capital, Global Restructuring Group, Managed Assets and others. CLO's colleagues are located in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania and provides the following key services

•Loan Servicing - New loan booking, modifications and general loan maintenance

•Loan Funding - Initial loan funding and ongoing advances / payments

•Documentation - Preparing legal documents, documentation review and storing legal files

•Collateral Management - Collateral perfection, maintenance and release

•Customer Engagement - Research and resolution of commercial customer loan issues and outreach to business partners

•Credit Services - Perform audit confirmation and credit inquiry services

•Reporting and Reconciliation - Reconciliation of commercial loan G/L accounts and preparation of regulatory reports

•Operaitons Support and Strategic Change – Provide services to wider CLO organization, drive communication, change management, process management and risk management activities.

Intern Responsibilities and Deliverables:

CLO has recently undergone a once-in-a-decade transformation. It includes a conversion of its core loan accounting system, operating model changes and holistic revisions to its core processes and procedures. We are now in the midst of post conversion activities and will look to our intern to dive into the midst of these efforts. This will include supporting the process change efforts, key remediation actions, as well as colleague engagement and support activities.
