CCB Students and Faculty:

Patsy Torres, Program Coordinator, Institutional Relations from The
Washington Center (www.twc.edu) will be visiting our campus to provide
our students with information regarding internship opportunities in
Washington, D.C. and abroad. The information session will be on Monday,
February 9, 3-4:30pm in the Library Browsing Area. She will also attend
the Study Abroad Fair on February 9 to promote their summer intern
abroad program in Sydney, London, Oxford, and Quebec City.

I have witnessed, first-hand, the workings of the Washington Center.
They run a very impressive program. For business students, TWC will
work to find internships in the DC area relevant to a business student's
major. We have had finance students working for companies like Merrill
Lynch and federal agencies like the U.S. Treasury Department in DC.
Students have also been placed in nonprofits in the DC area and they
participate in some very interesting workshops and courses.

A (paid) Learning Project for a Senior Accounting Major

Attention Senior Accounting Majors:

Community Nurse and Hospice Care, Inc., a provider of home health care and hospice services, is looking for an accounting major (preferably a senior with good grades) with good writing and observation skills, to work on a short-term project (15-20 hours). This a a paid assignment that involves working with the accounting staff to produce documentation (i.e., a policy and procedure manual) that will help guide staff.

Therefore, you will learn how the accounting process works at this agency and will need to write procedures and policies that would guide future staff or would aid continuity. The hours are flexible and a schedule can be worked out to accommodate the student's school schedule and homework commitments. I think this sounds like a good assignment for someone looking to add an interesting entry on the resume. It does not qualify for internship credit as it doesn't require enough hours however, this opportunity does present an interesting learning experience and a win/win for both student and employer. Interested candidates should send a resume and cover letter by email to Randy
Manchester, CFO. His email address is: RManchester@CommunityNurse.com

Here is additional contact information:
