Call for Internships - Attention Southcoast

The Charlton College of Business is interested in off-campus business internships for Fall 2013 and Spring 2014. Interns bring a great deal of
energy and eagerness to an organization. if you have thought about hosting an intern but don't know how to go about it, we can help.

In the past 12 months, almost over 200 CCB students have completed successful internships with local organizations. Many accounting, finance,
marketing, management, and MIS majors are ready to share their talents and learn from professionals in the field.

Like to partner with CCB to develop an internship program, please contact Professor Michael Griffin, Internship Director of the Charlton College of Business at mgriffin@umassd.edu or 508.910.6947.

Want to learn more about how the Charlton internship program works? Visit the business internship web page: www.umassd.edu/charlton/internship/. One document you may find helpful is our Best Practices for Internship Providers which can be found at:
http://www.umassd.edu/media/umassdartmouth/charlton/otherformsandpdfs/Best_Practices_for_Internship_Providers.pdf

Our program allows student interns to earn 3 credits for a business elective in the fall, spring, and summer sessions. Students, through an approved internship, complete an online course while working at least 135 hours.

How to get started? Think about a basic job description and send it via email to Professor Griffin at
mgriffin@umassd.edu. Provide other details (see www.umassd.edu/charlton/internship/) that will help us post a position on our blog:
http://www.umassd.edu/charlton/internship/

Students will then send their resumes to you and you decide who to interview and who you want to bring on board. As far as a time frame is concerned, internships need to be in place within the first few weeks of the semester to allow enough time for our internship course to play out and for the student to accumulate enough hours and to gain enough experience to make this a solid learning experience.
