The Hartford Financial Services Group (HIG) Product Analyst Summer Intern – Personal Lines Product Management DESCRIPTION: The Personal Lines division of The Hartford is one of the top providers of property and casualty insurance products, such as Automobile and Homeowners insurance, to consumers across the United States . We distribute our products to customers via several distribution channels, including Direct and through Agency partners. Since 1984, we have partnered with AARP to offer an exclusive Auto and Home Insurance program to its members – one of the largest and most successful affinity programs of its kind in the insurance industry. The Personal Lines Product Management team is seeking a Product Analyst Intern to support our state teams as they manage the performance of our Auto and Homeowners products. The Product Management teams are responsible for both the day-to-day performance of their assigned states as well as building and executing a long term strategic vision to deliver profit and growth objectives for their assigned states. The intern will work with an assigned state or regional team to support the state Product Manager(s) and Region Analyst(s). RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor the performance and profitability of our products within assigned states Monitor the quality of business written to ensure that it meets our desired targets Conduct data analysis projects as needed to help find trends and opportunities for improvement with the pricing of our current products Perform competitive analysis and research to help Product Management respond to changes in our competitive landscape in a timely manner Assist with rate level analysis and rate revisions on assigned products, including pricing analysis and preparation of rate filings and state-specific supporting materials Support the implementation of new product features and coverages WHY JOIN THE HARTFORD ? Interns will attend weekly professional development and training workshops throughout the summer to build upon skills and competencies being developed in their day to day roles.
