Description
As an intern with Liberty Mutual Asset Management Inc., you will develop
knowledge about the business through exposure to the Investment Finance
Department. You will focus on developing the skills necessary for professional
success by completing the assigned day-to-day work and projects normally
performed by an entry-level, professional employee. Liberty Mutual's internship
program is intended to provide students from diverse backgrounds with the
opportunity to practice business skills learned in school while developing
experience that may lead to a full-time position upon graduation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of standardized financial reports based on set procedures.
- Prepare and input general ledger entries by utilizing set procedures and various accounting systems.
- Retrieve data from various source systems to perform reconciliation routines.
- Review and update job documentation.
- Perform spreadsheet work to help analyze and distribute requested financial data to internal customers in a clear, concise format.
- Develop technical skills needed to become a successful professional within the designated functional area.
- Focus on developing the skills necessary for success by working closely with co-workers and the manager on assignments.
- Perform project work, such as research assignments which will involve an end-of-summer presentation to management.
- Undergraduate entering junior or senior year working towards a bachelor's degree.
- Accounting majors strongly preferred.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
- Effective analytical skills to gather information, analyze facts, and draw conclusions.
