Marketing Internship: Local and Paid!

Primary duties and responsibilities: The intern will work directly with business owner on improving our long term Search Engine Optimization Strategy on our primary website, FamousFoods.com. This will include keyword research and unique content generation for top items on our website.

 What will the student learn from this experience (list 4 or 5 learning objectives)? This is from the owner of the firm: "SEO plays a large role in any company’s overall online marketing strategy. Foremost, I hope that the student will gain a solid understanding of current SEO principles. This would include the identification of appropriate keywords for a given product through keyword research and the implementation of those keywords into a succinct, creatively written product description that customers will find informative and entertaining and search engines will rank highly as unique content.  I also hope that the student will learn to evaluate his or her work based on an analysis of the websites web analytics and make adjustments based on the analysis. In addition to work on this primary project, I would like to expose the intern to other aspects of our current marketing campaign such as social media and our email marketing. "

Job Title: Web Marketing Intern
Academic preparation of the student required (graduate, senior, junior, courses taken, GPA, etc.): Juniors, Seniors or Graduate would be acceptable, 3.0 GPA or higher preferably someone who has taken creative writing or other equivalent English class or classes. I would like to see a writing sample prior to placement. 

Skills required: Strong creative writing skills, meticulous in detail, strong research methodology, willingness to learn, positive attitude. Bonus Skills: (Skills not required but encouraged.) Basic understanding of SEO, and/or HTML.  A love of cooking and food, particularly Classic New England foods. An interest in  marketing, branding, PR, journalism, communications, digital media, social media, or related field.

Hours of work: Flexible - 10-15 hours per week

Paid:  This is a paid internship ($12 per hour)

Start and end dates: Flexible based on your academic calendar but would like to start soon if possible.
