Internship Position
This internship opportunity is in the field of public accounting. The successful candidate will work closely with members of the firm's accounting and tax departments and gain a practical understanding of how
the firm and the industry operate. The successful candidate will participate in client financial statement audits as a member of an audit team, be exposed to corporate tax compliance and prepare tax returns for
individual clients.
The intern will be expected to utilize the accounting concepts learned in school and to develop and apply those concepts to real world situations in a public accounting environment. During the internship, the successful candidate will be trained in the use of many widely-used accounting computer software packages. Developing basic skills in the use of common accounting software, such as Pfx Engagement, Tax and Fixed Asset, will provide the student with a competitive advantage over other recent college graduates upon entering the workforce.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
* Be a junior or senior working towards a BS in Accounting or an MBA
candidate
* Have a minimum GPA of 3.5
* Be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products, especially
Excel and Word
* Have strong verbal and written communication skills
* Be willing and eager to learn on a daily basis
Compensation and Schedule
This internship will be offered during the spring semester of 2008, beginning on or around January 14th and will pay $12.00 per hour. Interns are expected work a minimum of 12 hours per week between January 14th and April 18th. Dates and times are flexible and to be determined on an individual basis.
