Talbots - Hingham - Online Marketing Intern - Summer 2014

This is a valuable opportunity for a college student to get exposure to all of the major online marketing channels including paid search, affiliate marketing, banner and Facebook ads, email marketing, and social media. They will get hands-on, real world experience helping to build these channels to drive overall company success. This person will spend a lot of time helping build out our keyword set in paid search: what keywords we are buying on Google (e.g. "women's clothing", "cardigan sweaters", etc.). They will be doing website prospecting looking at relevant blogger sites to partner with for our affiliate program. They will help to be doing some competitive analysis on what other clothing retailers are doing on the web. There will be projects that test their analytical side, and those that cause them to think more creatively.

• Help manage and optimize all of the core levers of search engine marketing particularly keyword research and addition, but also ad copy writing and testing, bid management, account structure, and landing page optimization.
• Expansion of keyword set through use of Google search query reporting, third party keyword tools, and competitive analysis.
• Build out affiliate prospect list. Find sites that would be a good fit to partner with, and help recruit them to our affiliate program.
• Developing/Researching new online acquisition opportunities.
• Participate in Talbots social media working group providing an interactive and dynamic environment to share best practices; encourage collaboration on social strategy and campaigns from across the business. Keep track of online and offline social activities that support social marketing amongst industry leaders and competitive set.
• Research and report on competitive insights; using available social tools and research. What are industry trends? What types of marketing tactics are retailers and leaders in the social space utilizing? What seems to be performing well?
• This person will help to grow some of our earlier stage marketing channels.
