Sales interns will gain hands on experience, spending three to four days
a week on the selling floor, learning from the dedicated people who
bring the Nordstrom experience to life. Interns for both the full line
store and the Rack will receive a competitive wage and an employee
merchandise discount. What's more, upon successful completion of our
Internship program, you may be offered an assistant manager or
salesperson position, depending on availability and your preferences.
Responsibilities
Greet customers in a timely, professional and engaging manner
Maintain an active awareness of the merchandise available in the
department and store and be able to service customers as needed
Perform daily department maintenance tasks, including stock work,
re-merchandising, display, price markdowns and light cleaning
Work as a team player to ensure each customer receives the best service
possible
Open new Nordstrom Fashion Rewards accounts as a means of building
customer relationships
Consistently seek new fashion and product knowledge to act as an expert
for the customer
Participate in a 10-week learning program
Set and achieve personal sales goals while supporting the goals of the
team*
Qualifications
Experience or education in retail
Enthusiasm for fashion and knowledge of current trends
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

The Nordstrom Internship program is open to college students currently
in their junior and senior years who are enrolled in accredited
institutions and applicable degree programs. For example, retail
management and fashion merchandising.
The Internship program at this store starts June 1, 2010 and ends August
6, 2010. The application deadline is February 28, 2010. Interviews are
conducted in March and the selection process will be complete by March
31, 2010.
