Still Time to Do an Internship

The semester is underway and if you have at least junior standing (60 credits earned), you may be able to earn 3 credits for a business elective by completing an internship. The toughest part is landing an acceptable internship. We have a few postings that have come in over the last week or so that I want to make sure everyone knows about. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, follow the link to the internship blog to read more and respond quickly with a resume and cover letter. If you do land an internship within the next week or two, I will be able to enroll you into the internship class (which is required to earn the credits). The internship class is 100% online and quite manageable. If you already have 6 classes, you will need permission of the CCB Associate Dean to add another class. Keep in mind that on this Monday, September 10, 2012 / Woodland Commons / 1pm-4pm, UMD holds its Work n Serve Job Fair. Some students get internship leads from attendance at that event.

Here's some other leads (you may have to copy and paste the links into your browser):

A Westport CPA firm is looking for an intern. This firm, is James Driscoll, CPA is a good small practitioner - always a great way to get introduced to the world of public accounting.

There are a few other nonprofit internship postings on the blog that might be of interest to you including Blue Cross/Blue Shield of RI. I suggest you poke around in the August archives of the blog as many of these are still open positions.

Also, if you go down the page of the Internship Blog (http://www.businessinternships.blogspot.com/) and look for the Blog Archive, you can review other possible open internships. Also, think about subscribing to the blog so you can get daily alerts of new postings. I also offer a free publication entitled: How to Land an Excellent Internship. Hard copies are available at my office (in my door) at CCB-318.

THIS IS NOT AN INTERNSIP BUT A PAID PART-TIME POSITION
