Major League Baseball Advanced Media is looking for rising college juniors and seniors as well as graduate school students for our 2011 Summer Internship Program in New York. Interns are expected to complete a minimum of eight to ten weeks but specific dates will be determined by school schedules. This is a paid internship. Housing is not provided. Streaming Media Interns will assist production of video and audio features, including sourcing material from the library, digitizing audio & video, helping organize the digital asset library and general production assistance. Must be very organized and quick to learn; baseball knowledge and computer skills are a must. Experience with Final Cut Pro, sound forge, ftp and other web interfaces a huge plus. Finance Interns will compile and analyze various company data from various revenue streams as well as review and analyze trends, forecasts, year-to-year data, top selling items, percentages, ratios, etc. They will also assist with special projects assigned to the accounting/finance group. Must be accounting or finance major, have good working knowledge of spreadsheet software and strong analytical skills. Marketing The Marketing Intern will aid in the analysis, coordination and production of marketing materials, including: using web-based tools to gather and compile website traffic and email reports, analyzing traffic behavior for subscriptions and other product lines, coordination and submission of marketing materials for offline publications, responding to general marketing inquiries, organization of overall marketing files, and general administrative duties. Club Marketing The Club Marketing Intern will assure overall quality of the Club sites and newsletters through daily review, compile in-season and end-of-season results, best practices and Club tip sheets as well as compile results for Club sweepstakes, registration initiatives, Club newsletters/alerts and online forms. Additional responsibilities include monitoring and tracking various Club marketing initiatives (advertising, promotions, Fanfests, drop-ins, barter deals). E-Commerce The E-Commerce Intern will be responsible for supporting the Buyers with general administrative duties. These duties include item creation, general website maintenance, purchase orders entry, and vendor follow-up. The e-commerce intern may also be assigned additional projects by the department Director or SVP. Legal The Legal Intern will support the MLBAM Legal Department in a variety of manners including assistance with administration of MLBAM-partner contracts, preparation of agreements based on MLBAM forms, searching the Internet for infringements of MLB proprietary assets, file maintenance and other assignments as requested. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent writing skills a must. Technology Technology Interns control/manage and cleanup documentation intranet server, perform QA activities, label and document all wiring and servers in new datacenter build out, collect and maintain backup tapes for offsite storage and handle physical asset tagging and cataloging of office assets (laptops, servers, printers, software, etc) for finance dept. They will also be involved with low-level UNIX work during build out of next datacenter. Sponsorship Sponsorship Interns will primarily be relied upon to assist with sponsorship campaign implementation, account management, and analyzing/reporting campaign results. Additional responsibilities will involve researching potential sponsors, assisting with proposal preparation, and department operational management projects. Design As our Design Intern, you'll assist with project work by supporting the Creative Director or Lead Designer. You'll be responsible for designing ads, photo editing, assisting on feature projects, developing design concepts and handling design production, or content/copy. You'll also assist in creating original, innovative designs that appropriately reflect the sport and its design philosophy and brand perspective.
Public Relations The PR Intern will be responsible for assisting in communication strategies, making pitch calls to reporters/producers, writing press releases, disseminating press releases, maintaining archives, maintaining media distribution listings, organizing large distribution efforts and other duties as assigned. Interested candidates should have a general understanding of baseball, be proficient at basic computer skills and have some pr or journalism experience. CRM & Analytics The CRM Intern will aid in data analysis and report generation. Topics include: Omniture web analytic tools to gather and compile website traffic and user behavior, Compiling and analyzing email performance reporting, Compiling and analyzing other Customer Intelligence related reporting. The position will take part in QA activities across all areas related to CRM and Web Analytics. |
