Primary duties and responsibilities of the intern: Work closely with a
senior accountant doing basic bookkeeping, accounting and other
miscellaneous write up work
What will the student learn from this experience (list 4 or 5 learning
objectives)? Basis accounting skills, using various accounting and tax
orientated software, working on a team, working under tax season pressure
Job Title: Intern accountant
Academic preparation of the student required (graduate, senior, junior,
courses taken, GPA, etc.): Junior or Senior (we prefer a junior who
would like to intern with us for 2 years). Student should have basic
core accounting courses.
Skills required (and any other requirements): Student must be willing to
work hard and apply academics to real life situations.
Hours of work: Flexible, approximately 15-20 hours week. During tax
season, someone on our staff is usually here from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
Monday through Thursday and 7:00 am to 4:30 pm on Friday and Saturdays
Start and end dates: Late January to mid/late March (Orientation 1-2
days in December)
