Marketing Majors:
Please consider an internship for the Spring 2009 semester with a local nonprofit organization.
The New Bedford Symphony Orchestra is looking for a marketing intern to work on a website/newsletter/social networking project. NBSO wants to facilitate a collaborative marketing effort among all classical music organizations in the South Coast to help each other promote concerts and programs. They would like to start work on the project in January.
This is an unpaid internship but would qualify for 3 credits as a business elective (assuming you meet the criteria and complete the internship course.) NBSO would like to start interviewing as soon as possible. The position would be at the Zeiterion Theatre in downtown New Bedford. Please send your resume and an email of interest to Dave Prentiss, President/CEO,New Bedford Symphony Orchestra (508) 999-6276 x21. David's email address is: dprentiss@nbsymphony.org
Please visit the NBSO's web site at: http://www.nbsymphony.org/
The NBSO is doing some interesting things and could use a bright marketing student to continue their successes. The organization has worked with the college of business on previous projects and have utilized students in some interesting projects. We have had some very positive experiences with the NBSO. All NBSO classical series concerts are held in the historic Zeiterion Performing Arts Center, a restored 1200 seat hall located at 684 Purchase Street, New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Please note: During these tough economic times, we are seeing less paid internships and an opportunity like a good unpaid internship might be quite valuable on your resume.
