We are looking for energetic candidate who is eager to learn and
willing to jump in and make a contribution in the Core Technology
Group as an intern for the 2008 Summer Internship Program. The
Pearson Higher Education Summer Internship Program runs every summer
beginning in late May and ending in early August. In addition to the
valuable experience the student will gain from working in the
corporate environment of a global publishing company, he/she will
work closely with a mentor, participate with other interns in
workshops geared toward career development, and make networking
connections for possible employment after graduation. The work
schedule is full time (35 hours a week), Monday through Friday.
Pearson Education Interns are compensated at a competitive hourly rate.
This Internship position requires a creative thinker who is
interested in learning not only how we do things, but why and how can
we improve.
' Good understanding of MS Windows OS, including experience with MS
Windows server installation process and practices.
' Understanding of MS Active Directory and security concepts.
' Experience with server hardware installation and components as well
as general trouble-shooting concepts.
' Knowledge of IIS and web-based applications. Any experience with MS
SQL a definite plus.

Requirements for the 2008 Summer Internship Program include:
-Active enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in the liberal arts
from a four-year college or University. Candidates actively enrolled
in a Publishing-specific Masters program will also be considered.
-Outstanding writing, communication, and telephone skills
-Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
(Internships in Production may require knowledge of Quark Xpress)
-Desire to pursue a career in the Publishing Industry after graduation
Position Requirements:
