This position contributes to the success of Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI by developing and enhancing human capital and capacity through on-the-job
experiential learning and support of the training, recruitment, employee relations, and compensation and benefits functions of the human resources department and to stimulate interest in a career in the field of human resources.

Job Title: HR Intern

Academic preparation of the student required (graduate, senior, junior, courses taken, GPA, etc.):

A Junior or Senior year student (in good academic standing, 3.0 GPA and above) seeking a Bachelor's Degree or matriculating status from four-year college or university in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, or related field.

Skills required:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, and Word


General computer proficiency
Knowledge of general mathematical principles, including ratios and percentages
Good presentation skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse employee population
Computer, typing, keyboard, and Internet skills are essential
Ability to work independently
Ability to collect, analyze, and organize large amounts of data
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

Hours of work: Flexible (Core business hours are typically 8:00am-4:30pm)
