NAME OF ORGANIZATION: Bristol County Probate and Family Court
DESCRIPTION OF MISSION OR PURPOSE OF ORGANIZATION: To deliver timely justice to the public by providing equal access to a fair, equitable and efficient forum to resolve family and probate legal matters and to assist and protect all individuals, families and children in an impartial and respectful manner.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE INTERN: Assisting staff by writing reports, scanning documents, public assistance, entering data, updating court indexing, statistical analysis and other projects.
WHAT WILL THE STUDENT LEARN FROM THIS EXPERIENCE? Will gain knowledge and the experience of working in a department within the judicial branch of government. Will also gain knowledge of Registry, judicial relations and overall process of the Probate and Family court.

COMPENSATION: Unpaid
ACADEMIC PREPARATION OF THE STUDENT REQUIRED:
SKILLS REQUIRED: Computer literacy including Microsoft Word, email,interpersonal skills,
good analytical and writing skills.
HOURS OF WORK: A suggested minimum of eight (8) hours per week between
the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Must work at least a total of 135 hours for credit.
START AND END DATES: Soon as possible through end of semester (These dates are flexible)
