We
are a driven, customer oriented engineering services firm. Able to step
outside the box and develop solutions from a fresh perspective, Boston
Engineering focuses on all types of products and projects. Our projects
range from engineering services to defense contractors to
ground-breaking autonomous unmanned systems development. We provide
contract engineering services as well as develop technologies that may
lead to licensable IP or the establishment of new businesses. We
maintain an open and energetic working environment and foster strong
customer contact.
We
are looking for an Intern to assist our Advanced Systems Group (ASG)
with marketing research, market analytics, and business planning and
development. With guidance and mentoring, this position will provide a “hands-on” learning experience in both sales and marketing.
Starting
with a draft business plan produced from a student management team at a
local university, the person selected for this internship with help to
establish a final business plan for the company’s BIOSwimmer Autonomous
Underwater Vehicle (AUV) technology.
Some specific responsibilities may include:
- Market Analysis
- Assessing markets that need AUV technology
- Developing pro forma projections based on estimated market adoption
- Assessing competitive technology in relation to the benefits of our AUV technology
- Business Development
- Working with Business Development (BD) people to identify target customers
- Development of marketing planning and campaigns directed towards target customers
- Help BD people with customer contact and appointment setting
- Assist in gathering desired benefits and mission details from target customers
- Collateral Development
- Assess what collateral is needed for marketing and sales support efforts
- Assess communications strategy and tactics short and long term
- Help develop collateral when possible
Requirements
- Full-time 3+ month intern assignment or part-time (3-4 days a week) 5-6 month assignment.
- Ideal candidate will be a strongly motivated, creative self-starter, with an entrepreneurial attitude who is not afraid to ask questions and share ideas
- Outgoing, affable, highly analytical, energetic and flexible, able to work in a fast paced environment and maximize resources. Good proof reading skills
- Dependable, efficient and timely
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) with considerable attention to detail
- Able to use MS Excel and Word
- Available no later than January 2014 and able to assist with a major deliverable due April 1, 2014
- Minimum qualifications: current college junior or senior pursuing a degree in marketing or business. An exceptional sophomore will be considered
