About the company:

Emerald Health is a medical practice management company engaged in two core areas of a physician office practice:

1) Billing claims service: Complete revenue cycle management. This includes proving software for the practice to use to enter appointments, charges etc. Emerald Health then submits the claims to various insurance companies and follows the claim until it is paid. Each practice receives a report of the collections from the account manager.

2) Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Emerald Health has developed a complete electronic medical records product that was certified by Info-Gard as a complete ambulatory EMR. EMRs allow physicians to use a paperless system that in the future would be interconnected for better and more efficient point of care. Emerald is in the process of developing Practice Management (PM) software that will integrate with the EMR for a single system that a physician office can use to efficiently do most of their day to day tasks.

Academic Qualification:

Senior in a business Bachelor program with major in marketing or Graduate student with marketing major

Skills Required:

Understanding of the medical marketplace, willingness to learn a new area of growing demand, ability to do independent research and submit proposal for new marketing ideas or enhance current marketing strategy

Learning Objectives:

Develop real world experience in marketing for an established company

Understand the requirements for successful marketing in health care area

Analyze marketing and sales effort, provide report of strategies that work and do not work and suggest improvements

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing research of industry trends, competition, SWOT analysis

A good understand of Social Media with emphasis on facebook, websites, twitter and blogging

Capable of interacting in a sales environment where you will work with potential customers

Develop new ideas – submit proposals

Develop sales tools such as datasheets, email templates, newsletters and other marketing and sales collateral (such as press releases, blog entries, etc..)

Analyze SEO reports and keywords

Review website content and make recommendations for improvements

Create ads for online, print and association publications

Working hours:

Flexible

Start and End Dates: To be determined

Flexible to student requirements. Minimum of 8 hours per week for 4 months.

Compensation: To be discussed during interview. We would require a period of time of no compensation for the value of earning credits for internship. The right candidate would be considered for compensation after 30 days of internship.
