Product Pricing Development Program Internship
The Program
As a Product Pricing Development Program Intern you will play an integral role in the Product Management Organizations of Travelers!
Product Management provides interns with the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of fast paced projects and trainings.
Interns are assigned to a specific Product Management Team throughout the summer. Supervisors on the team will provide interns with a variety of projects while teaching the ins and outs of Personal Insurance and Business Insurance-Select Accounts.
In addition to project assignments, you will participate in technology, insurance, and leadership trainings, a mentor program, executive speaker and networking events, and Capstone Projects and presentations. All our internships are designed to be developmental, and top performers will be given the opportunity to interview for full-time positions upon graduation.
Internship
As a Product Management intern your responsibilities may include:
1. Applying various actuarial concepts to calculate rate indications and other statistical data to make recommendations for adequate pricing of products
2. Preparing pricing support models and templates
3. Analyzing the marketplace first hand, as well as through competitor and industry data
4. Quantifying the impact of pricing and underwriting decisions
5. Participating in the negotiation of pricing decisions with various distribution channels
6. Responding to Department of Insurance inquiries
7. Building and monitoring local agency strategy and performance
8. Participating in knowledge sharing and group development activities with peers
Requirements
Undergraduates studying for degrees in Risk Management Insurance, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting and/or Statistics with a preferred GPA of 3.2 or greater
Experience with MS Access or Excel is a plus.
Ideal candidates will have the ability to deal with concepts and complexity comfortably, and the ability to drill down information and draw conclusions.
