India Software Internship

MIS, Marketing, and other business majors:

I want you to be aware of an international internship opportunity.

This past weekend I traveled to Chicago, Illinois
to meet with the principals of Extentia, a Pune,
India based company that is recruiting
interns. Extentia specializes in software
development in Microsoft, Java and Open Source
based solutions. Their web site is :

You can read more about their internship program,
which is called, Global Connect at
<http://www.extentia.com/Connect_Index.asp>http://www.extentia.com/Connect_Index.asp

I have been involved with Extentia for almost 10
years. I can attest to the fact that their
software development and project management is world-class.

The company is run by Umeed Kothavala and
Naazneen Boocha who I met with in Chicago last
weekend. They tell me that Extentia has 200
employees (English speaking professionals) and is
located in a vibrant city of over 5 million
people. They have many major clients, including some in the U.S.

For the right student, someone looking to gain
international experience and to learn about the
software business in a dynamic environment, this
is a very interesting situation. You will
acquire an international work portfolio that will
help you get an excellent job.

For software interns – an IT background,
preferably in the field of Computer Science,
Software Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
For marketing interns – a marketing background in
the field of Marketing Management, Business
Administration or Business Development. You need
excellent communication skills with a functional knowledge of English

There is an application process
(<http://www.extentia.com/Connect_Details.asp>http://www.extentia.com/Connect_Details.asp)
and you be interviewed over the telephone by a
U.S. representative of Extentia. Accommodation
and a monthly stipend will be provided to
you and during your internship you will be
assigned an internship mentor and have regular review and feedback sessions.
