Accounting Internship

Internship Description:

During the accounting internship assignment, the intern works for a period of up to four (4) months and participates in various accounting and auditing engagements and tax assignments under the supervision and guidance of highly experienced firm personnel. The intern receives an intensive, fast paced introduction to our firm’s audit and tax compliance services and develops a basic understanding of public accounting and the firm.

Education Requirements:

· Must be enrolled in a degree program with major field of study in accounting.

· Junior or Senior level standing. Graduate students are also eligible to apply.

· Effective written and oral communication skills.

· Knowledge of accounting theory and principles with practical application.

· Basic knowledge of work paper format.

· Proficient in Excel and Word.

· Work effectively with all others in the firm.


Personal and Professional Responsibilities:

· Trial Balance Inputting

· Preparation of Engagement Letters

· Field Work at Client Sites

· Assist professional staff members with gathering information for reports and tax returns.

· Become familiar with the firm’s computer technology, with actual hands-on experience.

· Develop an understanding of public accounting and the firm.

· Participate in monthly firm meetings.

· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
