* Minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale preferred
* Legally authorized to work in the US
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Must be able to start on one of the designated start dates.
* Shire will accept and consider intern applications from relatives of
employees. Individuals will not be hired if they are in the direct line
of supervision of a relative or if there is a work related conflict of

Financial Analyst - Financial Analyst INTERN Candidate will participate
heavily in process improvement projects associated with financial
planning cycles budget, forecasting, and long range plan financial
reporting and decision support. The candidate will:

Enhance and automate any monthly reporting

Assist in the design and implementation of a new budget process

Development of training materials
o
Facilitate local onsite and web-based training for Sales Marketing staff
Candidate will assist in key financial planning and analysis for Global

might want to consider this one with a local company. The company is located close to campus on Faunce Corner Road. In addition, there is a UMD student interning there this semester and the feedback has been positive. This is an UNPAID internship.
Southcoast Physician Services/Southcoast Primary Care
Human Resources Intern (unpaid)
Duties:
Conduct internet research on appropriate sources for recruitment of specialty positions, including social networking sites. Work with hiring managers and HR to evaluate sources. Include sources in data base.
Become proficient in Applicant Tracking software. Establish data base, review and edit user procedures as appropriate. Assist in development and provision of system training. Develop and run reports as requested.
Review policy manuals to assess discrepancies.
Assist with employment process, including applicant screening and
reference verification.
Create turnover reporting system.
Compile statistics to use as benchmarks for quality improvement.
General requirements:
Good interpersonal skills and solid computer skills.
Hours per week will depend on the areas of interest and skill level of
the student.

It is too late for this semester to earn credit with this internship however, it might be possible to earn summer internship credit if the student continues to work in the summer. You would need at least 135 hours on the internship and would have to complete the summer internship

If you are interested in getting paid $5,500 over the summer to do a

Dukakis Public Service Internship. This award pays students to
complete a three month internship over the summer; you may also arrange
