Career Workshops

Hi Junior and Senior Business Majors:

Hunting for a job requires some good web-based tools. The UMD Career Resource Center has acquired two significant web based packages with which you should become familiar. eRecruiting and Optimal Resume have
been added as links from the CRC website. These two portals will help students build their resumes and connect with recruiters and businesses nation wide.

The programs will be open to all students with a UMass Dartmouth e-mail account. The links to both eRecruiting and Optimal Resume are on the CRC web site: http://www.umassd.edu/crc/students/welcome.cfm

eRecruiting software enables recruiters to post jobs, track applicants, flag top applicants, post job specific questionnaires, and allow for e-mail correspondence and follow ups between recruiters and recruits.

Optimal Resume enables students to build their resumes using six modules: Optimal Resume, Optimal Letter, Optimal Efolio, Optimal Video Resume, Optimal Interview, and Optimal Assessment. Each module
has tutorials to give students step-by-step instructions on how to create each component of a resume.

This new technology will greatly improve the lines of communication between students and recruiters.

I strongly encourage you to learn how to use both eRecruiting and Optimal Resume. Below is a training schedule for both products.

Tuesday, Feb. 12 Optimal Resume Workshop 2-4pm., Group I, Room 216
Wednesday, Feb. 20 eRecruiting Workshop 2-4pm., Group I, Room 216
Tuesday, Feb. 26 eRecruiting Workshop 5-7pm., Group I, Room 216
Wednesday, Feb. 27 Optimal Resume Workshop 2-4pm, Group I, Room 216
Wednesday, March 5 ERecruiting Workshop 5-7pm., Group I, Room 216
Tuesday, March 25 Optimal Resume Workshop 5-7pm., Group I, Room 216
Wednesday, March 26 Optimal Resume Workshop 2-4pm., Group I, Room 216

If you have questions regarding these training sessions, please contact the Career Resource Center and ask for Anthony Baird (abaird@umassd.edu), Assistant Director, Phone: 508-999-8629 or Robbin Roy (rroy@umassd.edu), Assistant Director, Phone: 508-999-8674.
