Two (2) Bose Corporation - MBA Internships

Posting Title: Business Analyst, New Product Planning - MBA Intern (15938BR)

Requirements: Whitepaper. It sounds so staid, bland, colorless. But that’s not what we’re about at Bose. In fact, our Home Entertainment Division is in the midst of a period of exciting growth and now leads the home audio industry in nearly every category in the marketplace. That’s because at Bose, our approach is to provide high-performance sound solutions that are elegant and simple to use. Behind this apparent simplicity are innovative and proprietary technology solutions that are borne from decades of research. In fact, our commitment to research is so strong that we pour 100% of our profits back into research, something we’ve done every year since Bose was founded over 45 years ago. As a privately held company, this allows us to make deep investments in the next generation of unique products with benefits that delight our customers.

At Bose, we take interns and internships very seriously. As an intern within Bose’s Home Entertainment Division, your deliverable will be a technology assessment whitepaper. However, for the right candidate with a healthy mix of intellectual curiosity, self-motivation, and ability to see clearly in the midst of uncertainty, we promise that the experience will be colorful.

Your ultimate responsibility will be to advise and assist the HED New Product Planning Team. The whitepaper you are asked to create will include an assessment of an emerging technology or market trend or an analysis of customer requirements. It will make concrete, actionable recommendations about whether and how Bose should direct and prioritize new product development activities based on your findings. During the course of your internship, you may be asked to conduct primary and secondary research to size and segment a market, explore latent customer needs, analyze competition, assess intellectual property landscapes, and/or interview thought leaders throughout the industry.

Skills: The ideal candidate is fluent in the languages of technology and marketing. He or she will have sufficient related experience that demonstrates the potential to meet all responsibilities of the job during the summer assignment. “Related” includes, but is not limited to: management consulting, market research, or strategic marketing or line management at a technology start-up or consumer electronics company. For most candidates, this will mean a minimum of 3 years’ experience.

Education:
Specific Requirements

•1st year MBA Student with focus on strategy and/or marketing

•Engineering or Physics Undergrad strongly preferred.

•The candidate must be a permanent resident or US citizen.

To Apply: Please visit our website at www.bose.com/careers and search for and apply to 15938BR

Requirements: Mobile. It’s what’s hot right now. It’s the next evolution of the information revolution, bringing the whole of the internet to the palm of your hand. Everyone who’s anyone is working on mobile nowadays, aren’t they? How would you like to spend your summer working on mobile at one of the most successful and well-known technology companies in the world, helping us refine mobile app concepts, creating the technical requirements specifications, business cases, and marketing approaches?

With nearly 50 years of success in audio, Bose is a global leader in consumer and professional audio solutions, and strives to provide compelling experiences for our customers, all the way from their first interaction with an ad or a salesperson through the moment they fire up their favorite song on their favorite new speaker, or headphones, or home theater system. Now we’re looking to weave mobile technology into our customer interactions wherever we can improve our customers’ experience.

Bose is looking for a summer intern to help us develop the vision, business case, requirements, specifications, and even the early design of mobile apps. The app(s) you work on might be tightly integrated with Bose products, assist salespeople on the selling floor, or even deliver an interesting new music experience to smartphone or tablet users. You’ll work with software engineers on one hand and global sales and marketing leaders on the other, to come up with a compelling vision for an app and a plan for how we’ll execute.

Skills: The ideal candidate has an eye for business to go with experience in software development or engineering. You’ll need to have a diplomatic streak, able to elicit and reconcile the sometimes conflicting needs of different organizations and stakeholders. And you’ll need to figure out innovative sales and marketing approaches that can take advantage of the existing machine of a large consumer electronics company.

Interested students should send their resumes to Bob Eccleston via email:

bobe@truebounce.com

Below is some bcakground on the company.  Their website is at: http://truebounce.com/index.htm

Mission

We at TrueBounce are committed to provide our customers with innovative, high quality athletic equipment and unparalleled service. We understand the specific needs of our customers and strive to accommodate them at all costs. If it can be done TrueBounce will find a way to accomplish it. We have built our business on this very premise. Our custom ability allows us to meet most if not all of our customer’s needs and requests. It is service like this that has made TrueBounce a major player in the custom manufacturing of superior athletic equipment. When performance matters choose TrueBounce!

The TrueBounce Story
Back in 2002 a couple of contractors, Eric S. Britto college basketball star and professional referee (with NBA experience) turned contractor and Wayne D. Newton professional designer and licensed builder (not the Wayne in Las Vegas) endeavored on a project to create an indoor high tech basketball backstop to enhance the game in rebounding and mid range play. Located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the pair came up with what is known today as the TrueBounce backboard.

Eric, knowing the game of basketball knew that a backstop with holes would enhance rebounding and mid range play, and was sure the game would benefit from such an enhancement. Wayne, having experience in products and design created a prototype that has now become the unique and innovative TrueBounce backstop. The two put their heads together and came up with a unique high tech perforated backstop that is enhancing high school games across America. Not only is this backstop improving the game, it is also increasing player performance and creating positive reinforcement at a young age.

The TrueBounce backstop has become a unique cornerstone in the building of TrueBounce. With innovations like this it is no wonder that TrueBounce Inc is rapidly becoming a front runner in superior quality athletic equipment!
