Description
Responsibilities:
* Provide accounting support for the audits of the John Hancock
Pension and Benefit Plans:
o Assist Investment Management Services with investment
accounting by reconciling data and preparing summaries of
investment movements during the year.
o Assist with preparation of 4 sets of financial statements
o Assist with preparation of audit schedules to be submitted
to outside auditors
o Provide assistance with general administration of audit process
o Provide general accounting support to US Controller's in
relation to the quarter ended June 30, 2010:
*
o Prepare reconciliations and other schedules to support
quarterly financial statements, under all bases of
accounting - Canadian GAAP, US GAAP and NAIC.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
* Good computer skills using Microsoft Office Applications;
advanced Excel user preferred
* Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other team
members
* Intellectually curious
* Good organizational skills
* Initiative and drive to get tasks accomplished in a timely manner
* Junior or Senior year individual a plus
* Desire to find employment in the financial services industry a plus
* Major in Accounting / Finance or IT area a plus
