Spring 2008 Schedule Changes

Please note that the following sections of the business internship courses have been added to the Spring 2008 schedule:

Section 01 Mondays 2-2:50 SENG -109
Section 02 Fridays 12-12:50 SENG - 108

If you are planning to earn credit form an internship, please be advised that you cannot enroll until you have landed (received an offer from the intern employer/provider) a approved internship. At that point, I will be
able to get you into the internship course.

CPA Firm: Accounting Internship

A local CPA is seeking an intern to work during the Spring 2008 semester. Work will include general accounting and tax return preparation.

Juniors and Seniors encouraged to apply (preferably a junior). Should be a good student (i.e., 3.0 GPA), ability to learn new software, and have a willingness to learn. This is a paid internship. The firm is located in
Westport, MA.

Our interns receive their state insurance license and have the opportunity to sit for their investment license as well.

Very flexible hours to work around your existing schedule.
1/3 of our interns will go full time upon graduation due to the real world experience that they have gained while in our internship program.

Etiquette Dinner

Business Majors:

The Career Resource Center has asked me to help them publicize one of their annual events: Etiquette Dinner and Networking Seminar. Think about attending this dinner to learn the basics of proper dinning - a skill that
could be helpful not only during a luncheon interview (as is often the case with follow-up interviews) but on the job as you entertain clients, meet with business associates, attend conferences and business dinners etc.

Etiquette issues are often noted by employers. Here's your chance to learn more about etiquette and protocol and a chance to meet some people and network. Networking is key to finding good jobs and to getting ahead in the business world. It would be great if the college of business could get a significant turnout at this event - so please get your CCB friends to attend with you.

Putnam Campus Visit

Junior and Senior Business Majors:

Anyone interested in a Putnam Investments internship for the Spring 2008 should visit the Putnam table in the Campus Center which will be in place from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm on the following dates:

Stacy Provost, a graduate of our business program and a Putnam manager, will be on campus to answer your questions.
