Internal Audit Internship (Paid) Brown University

The internal audit department at Brown University is looking for an internal audit intern.  It is a paid position ($12-$15 per hour) but you must be able to work at least 20-25 hours per week.  The work schedule is flexible to take into consideration your courses and exams however you must be able to commit at least 20-25 hours per week.  I have the position description and information on how to apply so if you are interested, please send me an email at : mgriffin@umassd.edu.

Also, the position description states that you should have completed an auditing course.  That is not an absolute requirement but you should be at least a junior and have completed a minimum of 9 credits in accounting.  In addition, they are looking for excellent students who are well motivated and willing to learn new things.  This is an excellent experience.

Marketing Research Intern
Overview:
This position would offer assistance with various marketing (including social media and website maintenance) & research projects related to the ATMC and Economic Development Division. The intern will apply knowledge acquired in the classroom to real-world situations, as well as gain the skills and experience that is necessary to prepare him/her for a successful career upon graduation. The intern will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of marketing, business development, and social media plans. This will be accomplished through developing, maintaining and expanding marketing channels/methodologies to the university and industry community, as well as diverse partner networks.
Essential Functions:
·         Marketing Initiatives:
o   Qualitative Marketing Research/Analysis (gathering and analyzing market data)
o   Market/Product Research for TVC companies (Provide accurate market data for use in business decision-making and product launching)
o   Perform market research through interviews, focus groups and surveys
o   ATMC/Economic Development Publications (Develop newsletters, brochures, and press releases)
o   Prepare Policy and Procedure Documentations
o   Website Support (ATMC/Economic Development website updates & page modifications)
o   Any other miscellaneous assignments

·         Social Media Initiatives:
o   Coordinate events calendar with online activity
o   Ensuring consistency of messages across multiple outlets

Experience: 1-2 year(s) experience in inventory control or accounting, previous experience with precious metals preferred.

Tasks:
  • Record inventory transactions into ERP system
  • Reconcile physical inventories to perpetual records
  • Observe physical inventories
  • Verify precious metal deliveries/returns
  • Prepare weekly and monthly inventory reports
  • Prepare reports for trading department
  • Maintain various Excel spreadsheets

Hasbro Summer Internships

You have heard of Hasbro - the global toy maker that has its headquarters nearby in Pawtucket, RI?  Well they host summer internships and we have had UMD student interns with Hasbro in the past with very positive feedback.  They post their summer internships in February.  They usually make  offers in March. 

Internships start in May, end in August.

Internships at the UMD's ATMC in Fall River

The ATMC, a UMD property located only a few miles from campus (up route 6 towards Fall River) is looking for 2 business interns. These are paid positions.
 

Business Operations Intern (2)
  • Website Support (ATMC Website updates)
  • PR Assistance (brochure/newsletter graphics, project recording and photo editing)
  • Database Management (Maintaining and updating ACT database)
  • A/V Management (photo editing, recording, internal and project oriented)
  • Collaborate with Engineering Interns in developing new business opportunities for local technology based companies.
  • Assist Conference Center Support (Setup)
** One of the Business Operations Interns will take the lead on ATMC Conference Center support
  • Work closely with the IT/Media Administrator on weekly calendar of conference/events, room set-up, audio/visual requests and conferencing invoicing
